Wow!! Since “Chaos A.D.” album I have lost my interest in the projects of brothers Cavalera. After some exciting years of excellent trash/death albums (Schizophrenia, Beneath the remains and Arise), the worldwide success injured the creativity of Sepultura. Under my point of view, they make some good songs at Roots and with the individual projects, but never again with the old excellent level. Different, hard trash/death of Brasil, with great energy and songs for Metal History, like “Inner Self” or “Arise”. They were near the throne of Slayer but finally felt in their own success. But something has changed this year. I came from Barcelona listening to a worried radio show until they announced an interview with Igor Cavalera. In a good Spanish Igor commented his new project with his brother, “The Cavalera Conspirancy”. I’m very surprised and happy with the news. I bought the album as soon as it was at the stores. Wow! Fue a principios de los 90 cuando Paradise Lost escribieron de las mejores páginas de la música metal y concretamente de un género que ellos ayudaron a fundar: el doom-gothic metal. En discos como "Ghotic", se empezaban a adivinar la transición desde el "Death Metal" más agresivo a las melodías más pesadas y grandilocuentes. La introducción de voces femeninas y las guitarras de Mr. Mackintosh abrieron nuevos campos a la música heavy. Le siguieron obras maestras, indispensables como "Shades of God", "Icon" y "Draconian Times", con himnos majestuosos y resistentes al paso del tiempo. Fueron durante varios años mi grupo de referencia. Luego vino la decadencia, convirtiéndose en una mala copia de Depeche Mode.... Hasta que en 2007 editaron "Requiem".
